One week from today, I will be on stage at eTown in Boulder, CO for the inaugural event of the Women For One Truthteller Tour. I submitted a piece of my writing for consideration, and I am over the moon to be selected as one of three local women invited to read my work at this event.
While public speaking makes me nervous and is a trigger for my hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), I am going through with it anyway. I will not allow my fear, or my condition, to hold me back. I feel called to do this. My hope and intention is that what I have to say will help someone else.
Not gonna lie. I’m scared S^@tless about this. The piece I am reading is pretty raw and messy. However, there is power in telling my truth. So as Glennon Doyle would say, “Carry on, warrior.”
In addition to reading my work live at the event, I am honored to have it published on the Women For One website alongside other truthtellers such as Maya Angelou (my favorite!), Glennon Doyle, Arianna Huffington, Danielle LaPorte and more. You can read it here.
If you’d like to join me on Thursday, March 29 from 6-9 p.m. in Boulder, get tickets here.
Your ticket includes a copy of Kelly McNelis’s book, Your Messy Brilliance: 7 Tools for the Perfectly Imperfect Woman; all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Times Up Legal Defense Fund.
